Where Is Hong Kong?

WHERE IS HONG KONG?



Hong Kong is a special administrative region of the People's Republic of China, it is at the mouth of the Pearl River Delta on China's southern coast.

Food places and shopping malls in Hong Kong are open till late at night and travelling is a breeze with the many informative road signs and occasional map posts to guide you.


The official currency in Hong Kong is the Hong Kong Dollar (HKD). It's a good idea to exchange some currency as few places in Hong Kong accept foreign currency.


Hong Kong time is GMT+8.



When to visit Hong Kong


Typhoon season begins in May and ends in November. The Hong Kong Observatory will keep you updated on typhoon warnings via their website, TV and radio. With the highest level of the typhoon warning being at number 10, many shops will close when they get news of a number 8 typhoon and flights may be cancelled.


Spring is from March to May. Summer in Hong Kong is from June to August and can be very warm and humid. Autumn which is from September to November is a great time to visit Hong Kong. Autumn (September to November) and Winter (December to February) are great times to visit Hong Kong. Winter temperatures in Hong Kong are usually between 10ºC to 20ºC.
